As a Marketplace Business Developer, your mission is to transform Decathlon.my into a one-stop destination for every sportsperson. You will identify gaps in our current offer, hunt for the best external partners, and ensure their products successfully reach our users.

Your Responsibilities


1. Business Development

  • Market Analysis: Identify gaps in the current Decathlon APAC and Malaysia offers (e.g., specific brands or niche sports like Padel, Fishing, or High-end Cycling).

  • Lead Generation: Proactively research, contact, and "cold-call" distributors and brands to pitch the Decathlon Marketplace value proposition.

  • Negotiation: Lead commercial discussions to secure partners and ensure the partner’s catalog aligns with our pricing strategy.

  • Strategic Alignment: Work with APAC team and internal Sport Leaders to ensure external brands complement our Passion Brand strategies.

2. Digital Onboarding

  • Platform Integration: Guide new partners through the technical setup on the Marketplace platform.

  • Quality Control: Ensure all partner content (images, SEO-friendly descriptions, and technical specs) meets Decathlon’s high digital standards.

  • Training: Act as a consultant for partners, teaching them how to manage their "Seller Shop" and process orders efficiently.

Profile

Who Are You?


The Essentials

  • Passion for Sport: You live and breathe sport; you know the sport market and who the key players are.

  • Commercial Grit: You have experience in Sales or Purchasing and aren't afraid of hearing "no" during a cold call.

  • Bilingual: Fluent in English (Mandarin is a plus for local distributor relations).

  • Communication: Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence external business owners and internal stakeholders. 

  • Ecommerce knowledge: Understanding of the ecommerce world is a plus point as you would have to speak in the seller’s ecommerce “language’.
