About This Role

1. Be the Business Leader & Strategist

  • Focus: Drive economic performance and long-term strategy.

  • Action: Act as the CEO of your sport. You will analyze the KL market, set commercial policies, forecast sales, manage budgets, and make autonomous decisions on product range and store layout to smash annual targets.

2. Coach & Develop Your Champions

  • Focus: Recruit, train, and inspire a high-performing team.

  • Action: You’ll scout and hire "sporty" talent, providing daily on-the-floor coaching. You are responsible for creating individual development plans, ensuring your team has the skills and confidence to lead their own aisles.

3. Deliver an Iconic Customer Experience

  • Focus: Ensure every visitor receives world-class advice.

  • Action: Beyond product knowledge, you will manage your team’s scheduling to ensure expert coverage is always available, building a loyal customer base through authentic, sport-led interactions.

4. Master Layout & Inventory Excellence

  • Focus: Maintain a premium, high-availability department.

  • Action: Curate an attractive and intuitive layout that reflects our flagship status. You’ll use automated systems to guarantee 100% stock accuracy, ensuring our users always find what they need.

5. Ensure Safety & Operational Integrity

  • Focus: Protect people, goods, and the Decathlon brand.

  • Action: Enforce rigorous safety standards and security procedures to combat shrinkage. As a leader, you will also step up to Lead the entire store as Duty Manager, overseeing operations for the whole site when scheduled.

Profile

We are looking for game-changers and sports enthusiasts ready to lead a commercial department and rapidly progress to a Store Leader role!

1. Education & Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: At least Diploma required (any field).

  • Experience: Opened to final-year students, fresh graduates, and more experienced candidates.

2. Passion & Mindset

  • Passion for Sports: A deep, genuine love for sports is essential to connect with our customers.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: A go-getter who is vital, responsible, and driven to own their department's commercial success.

  • Continuous Improvement: A strong desire to learn and an eagerness to thrive in a vibrant and agile environment.

3. Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Language: Strong communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken) are essential. Other languages are a plus.

  • Team Player: High level of integrity and the ability to engage, listen, and influence customers and teammates effectively.

  • Digital Savvy: Comfortable leveraging digital tools and technology in a retail environment.

4. Commitment & Flexibility

  • Work Schedule: Must be able to play as part of the team during the busiest times (i.e., flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays).
